Despite its rear engine, the Porsche 911 992 series offers very safe and controllable handling – this is particularly true when equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). This active suspension leaves little room for improvement, as the damping force spread is already very wide thanks to the adjustment options.
However, thanks to its decades of experience with Porsche rear-engine models, both in series production and in competition, BILSTEIN has succeeded in fully exploiting the existing potential for optimisation. The new BILSTEIN B6 DT shock absorbers have been designed without compromise for maximum load. For all Porsche drivers who like to fully exploit the limits of their 992 without lowering the ride height and sacrificing comfort, these shock absorbers are the ideal upgrade.
Compared to the original, the steering response is even more agile, roll and sway movements are reduced to a minimum and traction control is even better, without this having to be achieved at the expense of increased hardness.
The functionality familiar from PASM is fully retained, with the B6 DT integrating 1:1 into the electronic suspension control of the 911. This is represented by the abbreviation DT in the name – the “DampTronic” adjustment system developed by BILSTEIN. The driver can still adjust rebound and bump of their shock absorbers at the touch of a button from the cockpit, from comfort-oriented to very sporty.
This upgrade can be implemented quickly and easily for the customer and the workshop: the OE springs remain in place (lowering springs can be fitted on request), no entry in the vehicle documents is necessary, and easy plug-and-play connectivity with the electronic control system is ensured.
The BILSTEIN B6 DT is only topped by the performance version, the BILSTEIN EVO SE. The EVO SE allows to individually lower the ride height by up to 35mm, thereby lowering the centre of gravity. Handling becomes even more dynamic and the cornering speeds achievable are suitable for the racetrack.
Thanks to 100% compatibility with PASM, the adjustment option is retained and, in comfort mode, a 992 equipped with the EVO SE fully demonstrates its GT suitability on long journeys.
