Nissens has launched a new range of premium quality ignition coils, marking a significant expansion of its Engine Efficiency category. This innovation is the direct result of a strategic partnership with Standard Motor Products, Inc. (SMP), a global leader in original equipment (OE) and aftermarket components. Backed by SMP’s manufacturing and engineering capabilities, Nissens is committed to providing high-quality, growth-enabling solutions to the Independent Automotive Aftermarket.
Despite vehicle electrification, the internal combustion engine (ICE) market remains robust. With the average European vehicle age exceeding 13 years, ICE vehicles are projected to dominate the fleet well into 2035, making the ignition coil a high-demand component.
The new coils are manufactured in advanced, ISO and IATF 16949-certified facilities to guarantee Genuine Nissens Quality. This ensures they are built with premium materials and undergo rigorous performance testing for reliable ignition, even under harsh working conditions. Selected coils also feature targeted engineering improvements to address known weaknesses, enhancing service life and ignition performance.
The initial range includes over 230 item numbers covering more than 1000 OE references, providing over 65% EU car parc coverage. All major coil types—including Standard, Pencil, Coil-on-Plug (COP), Rail, and Block—are available.
