GS Yuasa has detailed the digital strategy behind its new pan-European website, launched on 7 January. The platform is the latest development in a timeline of online tools that began in 2004 with the launch of ISY, an industrial battery sizing calculator.
The company’s digital portfolio has expanded over two decades to include:
- 2013: First online automotive battery lookup system.
- 2015/16: Launch of the lookup widget and photo plate recognition for 90,000 European users.
- 2019: GS Yuasa Academy, a structured battery training and certification platform.
- 2024: Redevelopment of the ISY industrial calculator.
The new website consolidates these resources, including the Yu-Fit configuration tool and technical data, into a single ecosystem. It provides trade professionals with vehicle-specific warnings, installation guidance, and fitting times.
James Douglas, European Group Marketing Manager at GS Yuasa Battery Europe Ltd, commented:
“Digital innovation has always been a core part of our responsibility to customers. Accurate data, clear instructions and reliable training are just as important as the battery itself. Our new website is the latest step in a journey that began over twenty years ago — and we are proud to continue leading the industry forward. We have always seen digital innovation as a responsibility, not a trend.”
The platform serves multiple sectors, including automotive, fire and security, and UPS engineering. By integrating the trade portal with the main site, the manufacturer aims to reduce fitting errors and improve workshop efficiency.
