MANN-FILTER marks 85 years of filtration manufacturing in automotive aftermarket

MANN-FILTER is marking 85 years since its structural origins in 1941, when Adolf Mann and Dr. Erich Hummel established Filterwerk Mann & Hummel in Ludwigsburg, Germany. The MANN-FILTER trademark was subsequently registered in 1951, with the brand expanding globally from the 1960s into the independent automotive aftermarket.

Product developments from the manufacturer include CO2-reduced filters made from renewable raw materials and the biofunctional FreciousPlus cabin air filter. Introduced to the aftermarket in 2014 before adoption as an original equipment (OE) standard, the FreciousPlus filter is engineered to block allergens, particulate matter, and harmful gases whilst inhibiting bacterial and mould growth.

Mario Milinovic, Brand Manager MANN-FILTER, stated:

“Our brand has continuously evolved since its inception. It has always stood for premium original equipment quality, reliability, and a strong presence in the independent automotive aftermarket.”

The brand maintains visual identity through its yellow and green colour scheme, which also features in motorsport via its “Mamba” racing programme. The company has received trade acknowledgements over its history, including the CLEPA Innovation Award and the PARTSLIFE Environmental Award.

Commenting on the international trade relationship, Josep Bosch, President of AD PARTS, said:

“For us, MANN-FILTER is much more than a strategic partner: the brand has always stood for genuine OE quality, high reliability and solutions that really count in everyday workshop life. We are particularly impressed by how consistently MANN-FILTER translates issues such as more sustainable materials into market-ready products. This combination of innovative strength, practicality and our close cooperation makes the brand an indispensable partner for us in the aftermarket. Congratulations on 85 years and a success story that still sets standards in filtration today.”
