Bosch has introduced the Bosch Vehicle Care Assistant (VCA), a digital software solution connecting the vehicles of small and medium-sized companies with their designated Bosch Car Service workshop.
The software targets businesses operating between three and 100 vehicles, such as craft operations, delivery companies, and care services, which lack dedicated internal fleet management software. The platform collects vehicle metrics, including mileage, tyre pressure, service intervals and warning messages, via integrated vehicle connectivity or an OBD dongle. This data allows workshops to monitor vehicle conditions, detect maintenance needs early, and schedule proactive service appointments to reduce unplanned downtime.
The system permits independent repair shops to transition from reactive maintenance to proactive service partners. Access to early vehicle diagnostic data supports workshop utilisation planning, administrative reduction, and plannable service revenues.
Elena Orti, Project Manager for the Vehicle Care Assistant, said: “Many smaller companies rely on their vehicles daily but do not have the resources for professional fleet management systems. The Vehicle Care Assistant is a simple digital solution with added value for both sides: Companies benefit from higher vehicle availability, and workshops can serve their customers more proactively and build longer-term customer relationships.”
The connected service platform represents an expansion of data-based services in the independent aftermarket. The software has launched in the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Finland, France, the Netherlands, and Spain, with a gradual rollout scheduled across further European countries.
