Core Diagnostics has made a strategic investment in BYD repair capabilities. This move anticipates the continued growth of the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) brand in the UK market.
The investment includes acquiring OEM workshop tools for BYD vehicles. This allows Core Diagnostics to offer in-house remote repair solutions, including programming, coding, and ADAS calibrations, for BYD vehicles without relying on external providers. This translates to faster turnaround times and improved service for customers as all support tickets can be handled internally.
“Our investment is already paying off with the increasing volume of BYD-related support tickets,” says the company.
BYD’s global sales surged between 2020 and 2023, and in the last quarter of 2023, BYD surpassed established EV brands like Tesla in the UK and European markets. This growth is fueled by competitive pricing and a rapidly expanding network of retailers.
Despite a challenging market for new car sales, BYD’s UK sales in the first half of 2024 nearly tripled compared to all of 2023. This growth is driven by attractive leasing deals for fleets and an expanding dealer network with franchises opening at Arnold Clark and Lookers dealerships.
