Germany: Distraught business owner recounts how he was unable to release Tesla doors as man and two children burned alive
The IMI has warned that Tesla's latest announcement will increase the speed of change.

When the retractable door handles on a flaming Tesla failed to open, a brave shopkeeper frantically attempted to rescue a man and two kids from the vehicle. He detailed his valiant efforts to extinguish the fire, but to no effect.

According to authorities, the vehicle went off the road while trying to pass another automobile in the village of Villigst, causing the sad accident in Western Germany.

The Tesla caught fire after colliding with a tree. A nine-year-old child managed to escape and was taken to hospital, while the other three trapped individuals were burned alive.

Eyewitness Roman Jedrzejewski told local media that he tried furiously to use the car’s retractable grips to open the door but was unsuccessful.

Before hearing an explosion bang, Mr. Jedrzejewski, who owns a paint shop just across from the crash scene, was working when he heard “really loud braking noises” and “really loud squealing tires.”

The proprietor of the shop claims that when he saw smoke coming from the opposite side of the street, he snatched up a fire extinguisher without thinking twice and rushed in the direction of the burning car.

He claims the extinguisher “didn’t help” in his attempt to put out the flames.

He at stated, “I wanted to save people,” but he quickly recognised that he couldn’t free the victims.

I attempted to open the vehicle, but it was unsuccessful. The fire had already made it extremely hot.

The front of the car was flaming, and it was suspended at head height halfway up a tree. However, they were unable to open it; I wanted to take the kids out.

The fact that he was unable to save the victims, however, haunts Mr. Jedrzejewski despite his valiant efforts to do so.

“I was helpless, and I was desperate.”

I didn’t help, damn it. He blamed himself and stated, “It didn’t work.”

Two nine-year-old children and a 43-year-old man were the victims.

According to the local police, they are looking into what caused the tragedy.
