Launch UK & Ireland has announced the release of its Battery SOH Testing software, designed to assess electric vehicle high-voltage battery conditions.
Jon Woolley, Launch Sales & Marketing Director, said: “As electric mobility continues to grow, understanding EV battery condition is becoming an increasingly important consideration for workshops and businesses dealing with electric vehicles as part of professional EV assessment. The LAUNCH BATTERY SOH TESTING is designed to make the information behind battery health easier to access, understand and communicate.”
The software converts high-voltage battery data into a Battery Index Report. This document includes vehicle identification, workshop details, Battery Management System (BMS) information, state of charge (SOC), state of health (SOH), voltage, current, temperature, and rated energy. It also displays maximum and minimum cell voltages and module temperature metrics, with Launch claiming an accuracy of ±1.0% compared to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) diagnostic results.
The software includes battery health check certification approved by CARA (Car Remarketing Association), a European non-profit organisation representing car remarketing entities.
Woolley added: “For independent workshops, the LAUNCH BATTERY SOH TESTING supports expansion of EV diagnostic services by adding professional battery health assessment to their existing capabilities. For fleet and leasing businesses, it supports vehicle monitoring, fleet decisions and end-of-lease inspections, while used EV retailers can use battery health information as part of vehicle sales, trade-ins and evaluations – supporting greater transparency around used EVs,”
Available from October 2026, the software is compatible with selected Launch diagnostic platforms, including the X-431 EURO, X-431 EURO LINK, and X-431 TURBO II.
