MANN+HUMMEL has introduced a new fuel filter (PU 10 023/1 z KIT) designed for modern diesel engines with demanding requirements. This filter incorporates advanced technology to effectively remove both particulate matter and water from fuel, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of the engine’s injection system.
Recognising the importance of efficient workshop procedures, MANN+HUMMEL has included an innovative disassembly handhold with the filter kit. This patented feature simplifies filter replacement, eliminating the need for cumbersome tools and reducing the risk of damage during the process.
“The focus is on efficiency, speed, and cleanliness,” explained Frank Bartel, Product Manager Fuel Filters at MANN+HUMMEL. “The disassembly handhold, combined with the filter’s modern design, makes removal and replacement a straightforward and efficient process.”
The filter boasts exceptional particle separation efficiency, capturing over 96% of particles with a size of four micrometers – significantly smaller than a human hair.
Furthermore, the filter incorporates a three-stage water separation system. The first stage removes solid impurities, while the second stage uses a coalescing fleece to absorb and combine fine water droplets into larger ones. Finally, a water-repellent screen fabric prevents these larger droplets from entering the injection system. This multi-stage approach ensures optimal fuel quality, even in demanding conditions.
The filter’s seal materials are specifically designed to be compatible with various diesel fuels, including standard diesel, biodiesel variants, and synthetic diesel fuels such as hydrogenated vegetable oils (HVO). This ensures reliable operation and long-lasting performance.
MANN+HUMMEL has already commenced series production of this fuel filter for a major vehicle manufacturer. It is now available in the independent aftermarket as the PU 10 023/1 z KIT for various Ford Ranger pickup models.
