Ring Automotive is urging technicians to ensure workshops are equipped with appropriate battery care tools, warning that summer heat causes internal fluid evaporation and accelerates battery corrosion.
High ambient temperatures weaken battery charge output over time, leaving latent damage that frequently results in battery failure during colder weather.
To support battery maintenance and diagnostic routines, Ring highlights several workshop support tools:
- RSCP5024 battery support unit: Compatible with 12V and 24V vehicles across Lead Acid, AGM, EFB, Calcium, and Lithium battery types. The unit includes battery and alternator diagnostic functions alongside a power supply mode to maintain stable voltage levels during ECU programming and vehicle diagnostic checks.
- JUMPSTART PRO 3000 (RJST3000): A 3kg, 12V/24V portable lithium jump starter capable of starting all petrol engines and diesels up to 13 litres. Features include auto-voltage detection, reverse polarity warning lights, temperature protection, and a Boost function to re-energise completely flat batteries.
- ULTRABOOST 2000A (RJS040): A 12V jump starter designed for up to 8-litre petrol and 4-litre diesel engines. Operating via a colour display screen, the unit connects in 60 seconds and includes a manual Boost mode for dead batteries.
