Ring has been awarded 4.5 out of 5 stars and the coveted Recommended accolade in a recent battery charger test conducted by Auto Express magazine. The product tested, the ULTRACHARGE 10A (RSC1010), secured second place overall.
Launched only a few weeks prior, the ULTRACHARGE 10A is Ring’s most advanced smart charger to date, demonstrating exceptional performance in the test. It optimises charging through a nine-stage charging cycle for lead acid, AGM, and calcium batteries, as well as a dedicated seven-stage cycle for lithium batteries. Both cycles are suitable for stop/start systems.
The charger is 12V and 24V compatible and includes built-in battery repair and alternator test functions, allowing users to diagnose faults and extend battery life. It also features a power supply function to provide a regular support voltage for diagnostic work.
The Auto Express review praised its performance, commenting: “If money were no object, we’d choose the Ring over any of the competition here.” The magazine noted that the ULTRACHARGE 10A “was the fastest to charge to 80 per cent by a few minutes, thanks to a 10A output, while it kept us informed through its colour LCD screen.” The review also highlighted its “huge 4.3 metres of total cable stretch from the plug to the clamps, and an alternator-tester function.”
