France: Valeo Urges Workshops to Stop “Binning” Loyalty Points and Unlock Hidden Value

Valeo Service UK has issued an advisory encouraging independent garages to audit their packaging waste processes to capture unclaimed loyalty rewards through its Specialist Club programme.

The digital, paperless platform allows technicians to scan Valeo product barcodes via a smartphone application to earn points. Valeo notes that in high-throughput workshop environments, packaging is regularly discarded before barcodes are scanned, resulting in lost financial value for businesses navigating rising operating costs. Points can be redeemed for workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and electronic incentives, including Stanley FATMAX socket sets, Black+Decker pressure washers, Apple iPads, and Apple Watch Series 10 units.

The system updates in real time across the supplier’s aftermarket portfolio, which spans transmission, air conditioning, wiping, lighting, and electrical categories for passenger car and commercial vehicle applications. The digital platform removes manual processes such as invoice logging or physical box collection, allowing garages to manage points directly through the app interface. Valeo recommends that garages integrate barcode scanning as a standard final step in the vehicle repair workflow.

Andy Swann, Valeo Division General Manager, said:

“UK technicians are exceptionally efficient when it comes to completing complex repairs and keeping vehicles moving. But too often, once the job is done, packaging is discarded without being scanned, and that’s where value is being lost.”

He added:

“The Specialist Club app is a quick, frictionless tool that takes seconds to use, but can return meaningful rewards. A FullPack DMF scan will get you £10 voucher, for example. In the current economic climate, leaving those points behind is something workshops simply cannot afford.”

The app is free to download on iOS and Android. Further information is available by clicking here.
