We recently attended 360 Mobility in Taipei to witness several technologies that are poised to significantly reshape the mobility ecosystem. On hand was James C. F. Huang, the incumbent chairman of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) to answer a few of our questions about the show.
With 13 themed zones and leading global players, which areas or technologies do you believe will have the most transformative impact on the mobility ecosystem showcased here?
At this year’s 360° MOBILITY Mega Shows, several technologies stand out for their transformative impact on the mobility ecosystem. Key among them are Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs), which integrate computing platforms, AI, and vehicle communication systems into a centralized architecture. Exhibitors such as Texas Instruments and Mitac are showcasing core SDV-enabling solutions, highlighting the shift from hardware-driven to software-defined mobility.
Additionally, technologies like V2X connectivity, smart cockpit systems, and ADAS are being demonstrated by companies including E-Lead, JET Optoelectronics, Clientron, Chimei Motor Electronics. These innovations enhance safety, interconnectivity, and the in-vehicle user experience. When combined with emerging power and energy management solutions, they mark a clear direction toward a more intelligent, connected, and sustainable mobility ecosystem.
Given the rapid advancements in autonomous vehicles and green technology, what key emerging trends or innovations showcased at the event are you most excited about?
We’re especially excited about how this year’s show captures the shift from purely electric to truly intelligent mobility. Key trends include AI-powered driver assistance systems, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication, and next-generation smart cockpit solutions that personalize the driving experience.
On the green tech front, exhibitors are focusing on EV power electronics and intelligent charging systems, aimed at improving efficiency and system integration. These advancements point toward a future where vehicles are not only sustainable, but also increasingly software-defined, connected, and continuously upgradable.
How does this year’s event support the growth of smaller innovators and startups, and what role do you see them playing in the evolution of e-mobility?
Startups are a vital force driving innovation across the e-mobility value chain. This year’s exhibition features the XMobility Startup Hub, and XMobility PowerUp & MeetUp, a dedicated event for emerging teams to pitch breakthrough technologies in automobile parts & components, EV systems.
TAITRA provides these startups with international exposure, networking opportunities, and early access to global buyers and media. Their agility and creativity play a critical role in bridging traditional manufacturing with next-generation thinking—making them indispensable contributors to the future of sustainable and smart mobility.
