Car enthusiast claims celebrity mechanic conned him over Lamborghini purchase

A car enthusiast claims he was misled by celebrity mechanic Mat Armstrong after purchasing a Lamborghini Murciélago. Antonio Montanino alleges that the vehicle was missing numerous key components and that Armstrong has refused to provide the agreed-upon replacement parts.

Mr. Montanino, a YouTube personality who restores cars, purchased the Lamborghini from Mr. Armstrong. As part of the agreement, Mr. Armstrong was to provide various missing parts, including gear selectors, steering wheel cowls, and interior mirrors. However, Mr. Montanino claims Mr. Armstrong has failed to deliver the promised parts, despite repeated requests.

The situation escalated when Mr. Armstrong offered to buy the car back at a significantly increased price, which Mr. Montanino refused. He alleges that Mr. Armstrong is attempting to use the missing parts as leverage to acquire the car back.

Mr. Montanino claims that Mr. Armstrong has resorted to obstructive tactics, including delays in providing the parts, making prank calls, and sending abusive messages. He also alleges that Mr. Armstrong removed the centre caps from the car’s wheels before selling it.

Mr. Armstrong has denied these allegations, stating that he offered to buy the car back at a £30,000 profit to resolve the issue. He attributes the missing parts to an unintentional oversight.
